Holy Encounters

Writer's picture: Priscilla Priscilla

There are places He wants to meet us,

Where holy encounters await

There are places He has pinned for us,

With arrows pointing the way.

It may seem as ordinary

As the well, from where she drew water

Alone, to avoid the gossip

Always going on about her.

It may seem unexpected,

As the winepress, where he was threshing wheat

Impoverished and fearful,

Hiding from his enemies.

It may be as dead as a funeral,

To where her feet were treading

Broken hearted, a widow

Her only child, she would be burying.

In the ordinary of the daily duties

Or the dazzle of the festivities

In the the perseverance of the waiting

Or the joys of the blessing

In the songs or the sighs

The stumbling or the dancing

In the mountains or the valleys

The depths or the heights

He was there, He is here

He is always everywhere

Comforting Counselling Empowering

In His hand ,we are held

Restoring Renewing Equipping

With unconditional love and grace.

Preparing us

For the good works He has prepared for us,

Beforehand

Leading the way

To the place He wants us to be,

The promised land.
